Partying Holidays

So,
Holidays have begun! Okay, they started a while ago, but still. :P What have I done so far? Well..
Sunday, we had a trial soccer game. It started out cold, but then got sunny again (as melbourne weather tends to do). Then we bummed at the Sims' house for a couple of ours, which was fun enough. Even though I spent most of it trying to build something with Denzel's neocube..
On Sunday night, it was Kate's b'day partay. At her house. I had thought I was corrupted to the max and there was no further corrupting possible. But noooo, everyone wanted to watch American Pie. Oh. Gosh. It was funny, I guess. In some parts. But other than that, parts of it were just.. Gross. Played Pass the Parcel Dare (idk what it's actually called) and took heaps of photos. All of which I looked... Not good.
Anyways, then Monday was just a stay-home day. Tuesday I was brought to the dentist. Ugh, I totally understand why people hate it..
Wednesday, my friends came over for my birthday party. :) 'Twas fun. We watched Harry Potter and Pretty Woman, none of which we finished.. We rolled sushi for dinner. YUM. Mum cooked SO much food, we had roti canai, sushi, curry, chicken fingers and fried noodles. I kinda felt bad because she was doing so much for me.. But very grateful too. :D We played Cheat! And Jessie was just. Yeah. Try playing with her and you'll see. :P CAKE! and strudel for dessert.
OH and we played Murder in the Dark. It was soo much fun. Thrilling because all the lights were off and once in a while you'd hear one of us scream but you wouldn't know what happened. hehe.
Today, we went to a really nice park with our LifeGroup. Gang up tiggy and the firefox was nice. The day looked kinda bleak in the morning but it cleared up later on and became this really blue-skied, fluffy clouded, sunny day. Like I said, Melbourne weather..
It's been good so far. :)

Lake Eildon Camping Trip
Written by

Okay,
We went on this 3 day, 2 night camp to Lake Eildon with a massive group of church friends. I'll list all the kids/teens that went. It's a lot..
Jonathan, Tess, Cayden, Deznel, Gareth, Kendrick, Latitia, Elysia, Keesha, Eldrich, Brian, Megan, Melissa, Mavis, Michelle, Martyn, Ryan, Elina, Carine, Kevin, Daniel, Raelene and I.
As you can see, a lot of us. :) Let's start with tents. There were 2 massive 9 people tents. And even our 4 man tent was pretty big. School camp deprived us.. I never even knew such huge tents existed! lol.
The campsite was next to a beautiful river where I skidded a rock for the first time in my life. My best was 4!! Gareth's was 8. Gosh, he's a freak. lol. joking. Kendrick's was 6... The river was shallow and we dunked our feet into the cool, clear water whenever we felt like it; hopping across rocks to get from place to place.
On the second day, SOCCER! Yes we played soccer. Though it took Megan and I about 3o minutes to finally find people who wanted to play and a flat area to do it. -.- I got about 3 shades tanner... And swimming in the pool; in which the water was kinda disgusting. Slightly murky and sour. o.o BUT I splashing around and having fun was worth it. I think. -.-
Delicious bbq for dinner. :D OMGSH! The sky was so clear that night. It looked like someone had grabbed a handful of those glitter things and flung it across the sky. It was breathtaking. And you won't believe it, but I saw a shooting star. It was so sudden. There, then gone. But it was magical. That short streak of light across like a 10cm of the sky brought a smile to my face.
OH and the marshmellows around the bonfire!! Michelle hired me as her personal Marshmellow burner. xP I make them perfectly brown and crispy outside, and soft and melty and fluffy oozing out from inside. That night the parents had us split into 3 groups to do skits. Erm. My group which consisted me Brian, Ryan, Jon, Mavis, Cayden and I, did the spongebob theme song. It was soo funny. Kevin and Martyn did 'Henry Chow'. They memorized the whole thing from youtube. o.o And Kendrick's group did the Lion dance as Cny is coming. He was really enthusiastic. Tess was too. hahaha.
Then we all went into a tent and told jokes. A slight change from the night before, where we shared scary stories. Omgsh. the dog. dog. dog. EEEK.
Kinda racist joke by Gareth
A black kid went to the toilet. He had diarrhea. He looked down and shouted, 'MUM! I'm melting!'
Oh yeah, we went water rafting too. :) And fishing, using earthworms as bait. Quite gross. But fishing was fun. :D Denzel tried casting, but when he swung the rod back, it got stuck on the thorn bushes.. I had to, while ow-ing, reach in and slowly untangle it. I have these tiny specks and cuts of red on my legs now. lol. But it's okay. It was fun. xP
Heaps of random singing and music playing too.
Well, time to move on. School on Tuesday...

Malaysia

Right,
So,
I think I did the most in Malaysia during this trip. The 2010-2011 trip. I managed to see everyone I wanted to. :) And got much closer to church friends and old school friends. :)) YU PYN MIGHT BE COMING TO AUSTRALIA!!! heehee. Btw, this isn't in the right order.
The Truth or Dare app on my iPhone got used a fair bit. xP
We caught the Sims and the Chees for dinner before we left to Japan. It was like old times. Except I got called a bimbo. again. And that I acted stupid. WHO SAYS THAT? Gosh. And it made me question whether I really was like that. Am I like that? o.o But I guess it was fun.
Back from Japan, Olivia, Nicole, Lucas, Russell and Bradley came over to Po Po's house. Poker, truth or dare, old fashioned talking and OH umm. I think it was called Ancient Wars? Now that was a fun game. :) And I found out that Lucas, Russell and Kendrick actually talk about things other than video games. Apparently, they talk about 'life'. o.o Interesting.
Watch Night at church was like a big huge reunion and we managed to plan to go to Sunway. That was fun too! Took photos, Karaoke, AIR HOCKEY and Bowling.
On Sunday, after church, we (Jon, Gerald, Anne Jie, Vern Jie, Xin Jie, Darren, Denyse, Russell, Bradley, Nicole and Lucas) had lunch together and went to Xin Jie's house. More truth or dare. More talking. And a failed attempt to record (Nicole) ourselves singing (Denyse, Lucas and I), piano-ing (Xin Jie) and guitar-ing (Russell).
Went to watch Narnia with Yu Pyn, Wei-Yi and Marcus. Ate Carl's Jr burgers. SO good. And went to F.O.S and stayed at the bookstore for the rest of the time there. Went to Yu Pyn's after. Truth or Dare. :)
Dinner with Yu Pyn and family. They're very nice people. xP OMGSH THE BUGS! at the restaurant. So we hurriedly left and went to Secret recipe for dessert. CAKE! :DD
Dinner at Pizza Uno for Tess' Birthday. And again with Joyee and Jo Teing. It was nice catching up. BOUGHT BUBBLE THINGS! Played bubble things. Reliving my childhood.
Pasar Malam!
Malaysia will always be called my home.
Even though Australia is my home too.

Family Japan Trip

I'd better hurry up and get this over with before I never get round to it.
So first off, after the day long detour in Singapore, we finally got to Hokkaido, Japan. It's truly the most beautiful place I've been to. It was snowing everyday and everything was covered in fluffy white snow! It was like magic flakes, swirling all around you. And the thing is, it doesn't make a single sound. It's silent. On one of the days it was actually so deep that it reached halfway up my calf. And it wasn't even that cold!
We built 2 of the world's biggest and bestest snowmen, skiied, tobogganed, and just plain played with the snow. Skiing was alright. But we had taken a skiing class and there was a whole lot of waiting and we just kept skiing down the same slope. And my fingers were frozen. But I ain't complaining.
Tobogganing was the best. It lasts for a few fleeting seconds where your heart jumps, the snow flies across your face and a giggle or shout leaves your throat before you realize your at the bottom of the hill with a snow path you marked behind you.
Oh and buffet breakfast lunch and dinner! We also made cookies, played pingpong, took a heckload of photos, rid on the Gondola (cablecar) and sat in the lounge sipping drinks while eating snacks.
-taking a photo-
Me: *sticks tongue out*
Adrian: *sticks tongue out*
-face to face-
Adrian: French kiss!
Me: ... WHAT?!?!?!?
Then we were gonna take a plane to Tokyo. But on the day of the flight, it was snowing so hard that the airport closed..
Instead: 15 minute bus ride > 1.5 hour train ride > switch trains > 5 minute train ride > another airport > 1.5 hour flight
Think stressed out parents, tired grandmothers, energetic children running all over the place and a lot. I mean a LOT of luggages. But being the Ng and Tan family, we survived. :)
Tokyo was nice. But it's a city. Like Melbourne, like K.L.
Bus rides were full of family bonding moments. Playing with Megan, Adrian, Nick and Zach. Talking to Janice. I reckon the best meal was the one we had in the bus. There was a traffic jam and we bought a whole heap of food from this market-y place and ate it on the bus.
Megan: BOO!
Me: Aaaaah! (pretending)
Megan: Awww. Erica no need to be scared, it's just Megan!
Megan's 3 btw.
Everyone pretty much bought whatever snack they saw.
I ate an egg boiled in the springs of Mt Fuji. It's supposedly supposed to give me an extra 7 years of life.
They had the BEST bao at this park place.
Mt Fuji was colder than Hokkaido. The wind was CRAZY.
Basically, the holiday was full of kids, food, photos and running around. It was fun. :)

24 hour delayed flight
Written by

So,
I'm in the airport again. lol. It's currently 1.37am Malaysian time. I'm in the Singapore airport. Funny how I only get Internet access in airports. Anywho, this was our plan Malaysia>Singapore>Japan (Hokkaido)>Japan (tokyo).
Problem? Our flight to Singapore got delayed and now we have to spend a day here instead of the 3 hours or so.
Okay that was last night. Had to leave to the airport. lol. We got to the hotel room at like 3.00am. All my aunt's and uncle's were very dissatisfied. Because we were supposed to be at Japan right now. At a really expensive 5 star hotel. (thanks to me grandfather) So technically, MAS airlines should have compensated for all of this lost time and joy. To make things worse, Aunty Nancy's family already got on the flight to Japan and are there now...
So when we got to the hotel room, we were so tired that we just plonked ourselves wherever and grabbed whatever (bathrobe) and just slept.
Funny, I was quite happy because I was still spending time with everyone and BUFFET BREAKFAST this morning. But still. All the MAS staff have been lying a whole lot to save themselves money. Hellooo, customer service!
I'm slightly blur so if this whole thing doesn't make sense. Then. Well. I'll explain it later. Hehe.
Stuffed to the brim with buffet breakfast.

Jam-packed 3 week holiday
Written by

So,
Here's an overview of my extremely activity-packed holidays. I'm hoping I don't miss anything out. o.o Because it was fun. :)
Note: Don't be intimidated by how long it looks. It's not that bad. Okay, maybe it is. kinda sorta really long... I still hope you'll read it! hehe..
Week 1
13th Sept (Monday) - Isabel and Viv at my house. INCEPTION! And Mt Waverley village. :D I think I've posted on that already.
14th Sept (Tuesday) - Went to Ashlyn's house with Joyee and Jess. Pizza for dinner. I mean lunch. Wow. I'm not really thinking straight. Yum. :) And we watched half of this old horror movie called 'IT'. About clowns. I kept getting chills from it for about 3 days after that. I am such a wimp. -.- Clowns. Seriously. Oh and we baked chocolate souffle. :P
16th Sept (Thursday) - Baking day at Rosie's!!!! Baked deeelicious apple crumble and pizza thing. Walked to the park. Pizza dough thing was a small disaster. heeehee. Let's just say my top smelt like dough when I got home.
19th Sept (Monday) - Roar church social thingo. YUM CHAA! In the city. It was okay. I got to know Kim better. :) We had this Amazing Race thing. It was weird. But interesting. o.o
Week 2 (Yes, my week is Monday to Sunday. Not Sun to Mon. That's just weird.)
(I give up on dates.) Tuesday - Christina's birthday!! With Vic and Nicole and Emily and other random people I don't really know. We watched Salt in GOLD CLASS (first time). Although the wedges and ice-cream were really really yummy, I still think it ain't all that worth the money. xP But maybe that's because I didn't order any Lindt stuff. xP
Sunday - Sleepover at Leesh's house. Watched Matrix 2 and 3. :D I didn't like the ending though...
Week 3
Monday - Yum Cha with Vic, Nicole, Viv and Christina. That was fun. I had been wanting to go for Yum Cha with friends for aaages. Then we watched Easy A. Not bad. Quite funny in some parts.
Wednesday - Sleepover at Jen's with Tess and Eunice. Baked more. :P Mini berry crumbles, brownies and banana muffins. YUM.
Thursday - Watched Korean version of Boys over Flowers at Jen's. Don't laugh. xP And then we went to Knox for DESPICABLE ME! I loooove the minions. :D And they're gibberish talk.
Friday - We went to Caribbean Market because they had free rides for that day. With the Sims! And I think I finally got Keesha (idk how to spell her name o.o) to like me. :P Because I kept piggy-backing her and pushing her on the swing. xP And we played some soccer. :D Then we went to the Sims house. I miss spending time with them so it was heaps of fun. We played hide-and-seek. It sounds childish but it actually was fun. And truth or dare too. It was kinda lame. But funny at the same time. :) Bad thing was I lost one of my favourite earrings. :( It's the bronze one with a butterfly and a hoop thing... I'm hoping they find it though.
Saturday - We were going to go to an alpaka (spelling?) farm but we couldn't go for... Reasons I will not mention. BUT! We met up with our church friends at Hastings for the picnic thing. :D So it was okay. We played like 3 hours of soccer. But it didn't even feel like it because it's just so much fun. :) Kendrick lost his ring on the field. o.o 2 lost things in 2 days. Hmm...
So it was a really great holiday. Jam packed with fun. Though there were some not so great times at home. Ah well. Oh and in between all that, I managed to cook roast chicken for dinner one night, bake a failed banana bread and SIEW BAO! If you don't know what it is, google it. It's yummy. :) I might've made pizza too. Idk.
Not particularly looking forward to school.

Friends came over
Written by

Yesterday,
Technically the first day of the holidays if you don't count the weekend. WHOOO. HOLIDAYS! Right. So. I shall start with the happenings of the day. Viv and Isabel came over. Isabel came early, as per usual. lol. Dw Isabel, I actually don't mind. :P And we played MapleStory! Yay. Yes, I'm hooked again, which can't be a good thing. But who really cares? And Viv, I don't care what is wrong with your computer, but you are going to MAKE MAPLE WORK. :D
Then, we walked to Mt Waverley Village (no shorter name I don't think) for lunch. It actually isn't thaaaat far. lol. Omgsh, the curry pie from Swiss bakery was yummy. The pastry was all crisp and buttery and unhealthy. But oh well. Viv decided to go healthy and eat Subway. BUT she broke the healthiness with Subway cookies. But that's okay. She was generous and shared. :D
Got home and watched Inception. I would have killed the phone. Seriously. It just kept ringing and disrupting my Inception watching-ness. And then, I had to walk to get Jon from school because Dad wasn't gonna be home in time. Only when I got there, I met them there. -.- At least I didn't have to walk all the way home again...
Oh oh. Funny bit. First, Isabel's mum picked her up. Then, Mum drove Viv to the bus stop. On the way back from the bus stop, my phone rang. It was Viv.
'OMG, I LEFT MY CHARGER IN YOUR HOUSE! GET IT GET IT GET IT!!'
Yes. Seconds later after I hung up, the phone rang again. It was Isabel.
'Omg. I left my charger and laptop at your house. Coming over soon.'
...
Rushed to get Viv's charger. Drove down and thankfully, her bus hadn't come yet. Gave Viv her charger. Got home. A while after, Isabel sneakily arrived without me noticing took her stuff and I only caught her on the way out. Dude, if I didn't see her, I would have thought her stuff disappeared into thin air...
Okay day.

Holiday Life

Here,
Is a summary of Sydney. Well mostly. Bits about just holidays too. Because well. It was fun and I wanna remember it for future reference. LOL. I said future reference. Okay. So. Narrating mode.
We went to Sydney with Aunty Ching and her family. Nick and Adrian both have Scottish accents. Sooo cool. And Adrian is the MOST adorable 4 year old. EVER. Awww. I loved spending time with him. He makes the cutest comments and it makes it even cuter in his accent. lol. Okay. I'm gushing. But I would be like holding his hand and he would be like 'You're mine!' AWWW. Right. Enough with the gushing. lol.
When my cousins first came over, we went to... Melbourne Museum. Yesh, it was my first time. And it was actually quite interesting. But we didn't get to spend long there. Because we were going for yum cha. Yummy. :P
Then, Sydney! Tess, Jon and I stayed at Ee Ee's place. And everyone else stayed at the hotel. lol. ah well. We went to the Sydney Opera House. Which is massive. Wayyy bigger than it is in all those photos. And the Sydney Harbor Bridge was pretty nice too.
We also went to Manly Beach. And had ice-cream. We had ice-cream a lot. And oooh. We went to heaps of yummy food places. This korean place, where you had to take a number because there were so many people. And you had to wait like 1 hour. And if you missed your number, you got a new one... -.- And the thai restaurant was yummy too.
And we went to Burke Street Bakery. The tarts were alright. Except for the Strawberry Brulee Tart, which was deeelicious. And we got this fig sourdough bread thing. Which was meh.
Okay, enough about food. I'm sparing you Isabel. I could go on forever. xD And we went to the Sydney Zoo. Which was fun. But SO no worth the money. It was really really expensive.
I guess that's enough about the holiday.
Not happy it's over though.

Over the Long Weekend
Written by

So,
Over the long weekend, which was quite a while ago, (yes, I have been neglecting blogging), I was fully booked. Friday, was fuun. Went to Chaddie with Viv, Isabel, Kate, Nicole, Jessie and Vicky. It was Viv's b'day!! yay! And I baked her a marble cake. Even though she said she didn't want one. Well, too bad. xD Isabel wanted it anyway. We were going to watch S** in the City or Get Him to the Greek. Which were both MA15+ movies. I had no idea we were gonna watch them and I reeeeallly didn't want to have to lie. And I even more really did not want to watch Get Him to the Greek. Especially after what Isabel and Nicole were telling me about it... Thanks guys... lol. In the end, I was HAPPY cos we watched Shrek. Not that bad actually. :)
Saturday was busy as usual. Chinese school, then church.
Sunday was the Sim's house warming. Curry, lasagna, pasta, pizza. Jusst the usual yummy food. There was reeeaallly yummy apple pie. ;) Then, we played soccer for like 3 hours. I know, omgsh. I didn't even notice that we played so long. But it was SOO muddy and I got mud everywhere. You could literally see the different colour near my ankles. Kinda like camp actually.
Monday was Jason's B'day. It started alright. But um... I think James pushed a wrong button an Jas got really angry and it was all just... I mean, what do you do when someone's so angry that they don't listen to comfort? Hmm.. I made egg tarts too.
Just an update. Nothing much. o.o

Beginning of Holidays
Written by
Erica Tan

Wow,
I am blogging more often... But it'll pass, believe me, it will. It's kinda funny actually. When I went to church a 3 days ago, the pastor was talking about people being addicted to approval. And that everyone has a 'Grand Stand' and they do things for the 'Grand Stand'. I guess I'm sorta like that. They say I have to get everyone OFF and leave jsut God there. Makes sense I guess. He already knows what I'm really like, so what's the point in changing, right?
He knows what I'm thinking, so even if I didn't say it out loud, because I knew it wouldn't please others, or it would make things awkward, he would know anyway... Did that make sense? Oh well.
Oh yea, I got baptised!!! On Sunday. 13th of September 2009. Yay! The water was really hot, cos it was a heated pool. Hahahah.
Fingers are cold cos my gloves are in the wash...

Creepy Crawlie's B'day Party
Written by
Erica Tan

2:27 PM
Heyloo,
I haven't been blogging for a while and there's heaps of stuff to tell... I'll just have to take a deep breath and type it all, and it's all gonna be like shortened and squished. Or if i can't be stuffed, I'll probably cut it into two posts. *deep breath*.
Okay, so on Thursday, no wait, Wednesday (I checked my school diary), a reptile handler came to our Science class. It was really cool! Well, sort of. Anyway, they brought turtles, lizards, a baby crocodile and *shivers* snaakessss... The turtles were really cute and small. And there were heaps of different kinds of lizards. There was one called the two-headed lizard, cos it had a bum that looked like its head... How greath would that be! haha. And then there were small snakes. And then he brought out this gigantic one. But he said it was still small, cos it was gonna grow to like 6 metres. 6 METRES! That's like 5 of me! And the baby crocodile snapped at me... We got to touch all of these creatures and some were scaly, and there were some that were kinda slimey... Eurggghh...
Then was... Oh, yea! Jessie's B'day party! It was supposed to be a sleepover, but mum said I couldn't stay over... But that I could stay until really late, so it was okay I guess... I got Jessie this pencilcase which was black and said 'Private Property' on it. And I stuffed sweets inside. lol. We played the Wii and Super Smash Brawl. I looove that game. It's so much fun. We had sushi for dinner. Too sweet, so I didn't have that much. But, hey, made it up with junk food. And then and then! We watched Death Note. It wasn't the Anime series. It was the movie which was pretty good. Then, we sang the B'day song to Jessie and had chocolate cake. Jessie said she specially got it for me... lol. Thanks Jess! haha.
I won't bore people with a long dreary post so I'm gonna stop now. More holiday things on my next post! Cya.
